Launched in June 2004, the 100-passenger Celebrity Xpedition was designed to explore unusual destinations and offers a more intimate and active alternative to the larger ships that make up the Celebrity Cruises' fleet. Operating soft-adventure style cruises in the Galapagos Islands, the upscale vessel features exceptionally warm service, a casual ambience that requires no suits or cocktail dresses, and sundeck barbecues that are real crowd-pleasers.

What We Love

Onboard Naturalists: Galapagos National Park-certified guides accompany guests during the entire journey. Knowledgeable and passionate, they're readily available for individual questions onboard.

Inclusions: The fare includes drinks (except some premium labels), gratuities, shore excursions, and use of wetsuits and snorkeling equipment. If you book a cruise tour, the pre- and post-cruise overnights in Quito are also incorporated into the fare.

Well-Equipped Outside Cabins: Accommodations are compact but each room features a TV, DVD player, MP3 docking station, and binoculars. All staterooms have outside views, but if you want a balcony, you should book a suite.

Best Known For

Once-in-a-Lifetime Journeys: A voyage to the Galapagos changed Charles Darwin's life — and it could change yours too. For many people, this is a truly transformative experience to spot rare, endemic animals that range from nesting birds to land iguanas.

Who It's Best For

Flora and Fauna Lovers: Celebrity Xpedition caters to guests who want to see the unknown corners of the world — and its exotic creatures: blue-footed boobies, sea lions, and sea birds.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

Beware of Curious Wildlife: Passengers are warned not to pet the seal pups on the islands, since they may be abandoned should their mothers detect a human scent. Hard to do, however, when the friendly critters rub themselves against your legs and offer you sticks to throw.
